Who We Are
Asian
Ministries (formerly FYASI) is a program of
Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities (501(c)(3) Non-Profit
Organization) dedicated to serving families and youth in the Twin Cities
Metro area and beyond.
FYASI is founded as a result of one man’s
personal experience and passion to reach out to his people. T. Cher (Txhaj Cawv)
Moua (Mouanouvu)
came to the US 26 years ago as a refugee. His mother, two of his brothers,
and he came to the US and lived in Pittsburgh, PA. When they first
arrived, they knew nothing about America. Through the love of
Jesus Christ expressed through a local pastor and church, T. Cher came
to know and accepted Jesus' love which changed his life forever.
The experience of moving to a
new, unknown land and learning the culture, gave Cher Moua the insight to
help others who now make the same journey. Through T. Cher's
leadership, scores of Hmong families and their children have been
helped. Personal lives changed, family relationships restored, and
new directions for struggling Hmong families are clearer everyday.
Thanks to people who believe in T. Cher and his call by God to lead and
continue to pray for and support of his passion and
vision to lead the Hmong family to a brighter future...
Our FYASI staff consists of a dedicated team of people who care deeply about Hmong families and their children.
